Full Name:Isabella Ania Salvador
Alias: Bella
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Occupation:New Assistant District Attorney in Gotham City
Affiliations:The just and good law
Personality: There are some people who can be summed up with a few small phrases, Bella is not one of them., Bella’s heart is devoted to the revival of Gotham to their once glorious days before crime over ran the streets and ruin the lives of so many. Some say she’s an idealist and that is impossible for Gotham to rise from its decay, but Bella refuses to believe that. She is driven to see Gotham rise from the ashes, no matter how many countless hours or sleepless nights she has to endure to see it happen. This has caused her to be a very devoted and somewhat obsessed career woman whose main focus is not on the improvement of her own personal life, but those around her. She knows that like an oversized jigsaw puzzle, once the pieces begin to fall into place, Gotham can return to its once celebrated days.
She is also an overly persistent woman who does not give up without a fight. She is a woman of conviction as well as an independent woman, not allowing anything to hold her back from fighting for justice or something she desires. She by no means breaks the law to achieve these tasks, but she is also not against using whatever she can from her legal bag of tricks. She refuses to be intimidated by those who threaten her well being and often finds herself in situations that no sane woman would place herself in. She has a tendency to not give up easily which in the end sometimes causes her more grief. She is incredibly opinionated and outspoken, unafraid to say what she believes and defending it with every part of her body and soul.
She greatly dislikes violence to solve crime, believing in the justice system rather than taking justice into one’s own hands. Two wrong do not make a right and therefore to her, using violence to solve violence is pointless. She is an idealist believing that the good in people will always prevail if given the right incentive although she struggles to apply this theory to the criminals she spends her days and nights trying to convict. She does not have much of a personal life outside of the office, despite a fair amount of notice from the opposite gender. She struggles to allow anyone terribly close and trouble closing old wounds. She does not “get over” things as easily as she’d like, and unless her head and heart can be in sync, she can’t convince herself it is the right thing to do. Overall, Isabella is a determined woman with big dreams and the devotion to see them realized.
Unique Traits/Skills:
There are quite a few traits that Bella possesses that can be considered “strengths”. The most apparent one is her dedication to her dreams. Not many people have the conviction and dedication to see their dreams realized and after facing so much adversity, most people would have tucked tail and ran. Instead it only further motivates Bella to stick her guns and endure whatever gets thrown her way. She is also very attentive and driven, hardly ever being deterred from the task at hand unless she comes upon something that can be of use. She is very observant, taking mental notes and being keenly aware of her surroundings in almost all situations.
She is also like a brick wall in the face of opposition even when her physical safety is in question. Even if something strikes a nerve within her, she had mastered the unaltered cold expression in the face of difficulty. She is passionate in every aspects of her life although she also views life through the lenses of objectivity. She has a fluent knowledge of English, Spanish and Italian as well as some Latin. These come in very handy when dealing with people of other ethnicities, not to mention written law. She is very eloquently spoken and is very talented with using both ethos and pathos.
Although it may be hard to reach, she has a heart of pure gold. She always wants the best for people and always seems to put everyone else’s happiness above her own. She believes in the good nature of people something instilled her in by her mother. She also believes in hope for the future and when Gotham finds it way back to the light, she has hope for herself. She does want someone to love her unconditionally and maybe even a family someday, but she refuses to think of that as an option until her dreams are realized.
While Bella may have a lot of strengths, but they can also double as weaknesses. For example, her devotion to her dreams of Gotham’s mighty return has also become an obsession in which she completely enthralled. There is a cot that she keeps in the corner of her office in case of late nights, often finding herself sleeping there when on a case keeps her ‘til 3 in the morning or later. She can also sometimes be too brave for her own good, placing herself in situations, which if not for her quick thinking, could turn out for the worst. Her obsession with her work makes a social life very difficult to maintain because it would require her take time away from her fixation. Because she refuses to put her work on the back burning, her social life is near to none-existent. The girls in the office had made attempts to ask her to go out with them, as have some of the prestigious men in the department, but to no avail. This has added to image of Bella as slightly anal retentive and over-worked Assistant DA, despite her young age. She feels an extreme obligation to continue the work of her childhood friend, Rachel, in this time of utter chaos.
The other reason she does not allow herself to have much of a social life is because she is not ready to tear down the defensive walls the surround her heart. After the romantic flame, which was ignited in her heart long ago only to later be scorched by it, Bella promised herself that love was not in the cards, at least until things were back to the way they were before Gotham fell into the hands of criminals. Everything in her life seems to be tied up in her work and which is now Gotham city. Sometimes she finds herself longing for something more but what it is, she can’t quite put her finger on.
Appearance: Mary Baker Eddy once said, “The recipe for beauty is to have less illusion and more Soul.” There has never been true a statement in regards to true beauty, and it is one that Bella lives by. She is most often categorized as a natural beauty, one that does not take much effort to accentuate. In her case, her focus is hardly on her appearance but more on her career. Her long brown locks cascade down past her shoulders and she wears it in a variety of fashions, not favoring one over another. Her eyes are the window to her soul, and resemble deep golden pools that are never without emotion. Her eyes always seem to give her away, as she is unable to hide her thoughts or her emotions easily. She has very defined features, her proud cheek bones making a bold statement. Although she stands at 5’8’’, when she is standing up for herself or something she believes in, she can appear much taller. Her build is athletic, and she is very physically fit. She works out daily and although she refuses to use her physical to get results, she will defend herself as necessary.
Rachel is not a frumpy woman. She is often seen in her business attire, which consists of a variety of feminine clothing, but nothing too sexy. She does own clothing other than her business attire, as shocking as it may seem to her co-workers. But because her life is entwined with her work, these clothes are rarely used. She does not often wear a lot of revealing clothing due to how it affects her work environment and how seriously people will perceive her.
Celebrity name: Kate Beckinsale
History:
They say home is where the heart is, and for Isabella Salvador, home is Gotham city. Although not born in Gotham she was raised in the most prosperous time that Gotham had ever witness, Isabella’s heart has always belonged there. Her heart grieved alongside the prestigious city as the tragic murder of the Wayne’s brought an end to an era. Their passing brought a wave of chaos and crime, rocking the Salvador home. Her father, a city police officer was gunned down during a robbery when she was at the fragile age of ten. This shattered life as she knew it and from that day forth she made an oath to bring an end to the crime. She was not alone in this oath but joined by a close friend by the name of Rachel. They made a promise, that day behind the jungle gym, a promise that they would never let the bad guys rule Gotham. Never.
While most childhood promises fade like the warmth of summer in the fall, this was not one of them. Although it was never meant to be a competition between the two, it often was. And while Bella was beautiful, popular and smart somehow Rachel always came out on top. Most of the students held this against Rachel, but not Bella. Instead, she treasured her friend and closest companion and embraced her success, often being left in Rachel’s shadow. They graduated top of their class but unlike Rachel, Bella began to ache for the unknown.
So, instead of staying in Gotham, Bella left. She went as far as possible to pursue her dreams and escape the shadow of Rachel Dawes and her greatness. She did just that too, becoming extremely successful and adored as soon as she entered her new life. She graduate top of her class, now number 1 instead of number 2, at her undergrad and then once again in law school. She soared outside of Gotham and Rachel did just the same in but in their home town. It was if they were finally equals, both Assistant District Attorney’s, keeping their promise.
This was until that tragic day. Rachel and Bella kept in touch often, mostly through email, considering both were workaholic’s. As the chaos began to over-rule Gotham once again, Rachel’s emails became shorter and less frequent, until one day not at all. It seemed unlike Rachel to not keep in touch more but Bella was consumed with a chaos involving a major crime lord there in New York. Then, the email came, but this time not from Rachel, but Rachel’s mother. This would be the first time since the revelation of her fiancée’s affair that Bella would allow herself to give into tears. She did not take time off from work, but instead dived deeper into work.
Then, she received a call. It was from her father’s partner, the now appointed Commissioner, asking for her considering of returning to Gotham. It was not a hard decision, and within a week she relocated herself back to Gotham. She had made a promise and Gotham needed her more now than ever. It would not be easy, this she knew, but she could not turn her back to Gotham and its plea for help. She could not let her father or Rachel’s death be in vain.
Sample Post: DAMNIT!
Isabella growled under her breathe as she slammed the file down on the desk. How could this be happening again? It seemed like when one criminal was incarcerated, another popped up! It seemed as if Gotham had a never ending supply of criminals, a bottomless pit in which they waited for their turn in line to come inflict havoc on the city of Gotham. Her once meticulous mahogany desk was now littered with paperwork and countless files, all screaming for her attention. Bella’s tired hands rubbed her exhausted teal eyes, as if to rub the frustration out of them. She had not slept in what seemed like years and she had to will herself to open her eyes again. It was nights like this that she wondered why she chose this career. Why she chose the late nights and endless hours with the company of crime and destruction over friends and romance. But it was the names on the list inside the files that destroyed the tidiness of her desk, the list of the victims of the twisted individuals that reminded her. It was the tears of happiness not sadness, those families would shed when these horrible men would be brought down by those sleepless nights. That and that alone, is what made it worth it.
The file that currently lay open was one that hit a little too close to home for Bella. His name with Rodger Anderson and they had been suspecting him of multiple crimes and assaults, a couple murders as well. He was caught in the middle of armed robbery, by none other than Gotham’s masked savior. When they arrived to the scene, he was tied down waiting for them. But despite being practically handed over on a silver platter, Isabella could not connect him to the other crimes they suspected him of. He would get one or two years, the chance to get off on good behavior with parole unless she could get him to confess to other crimes. She stared blankly at file, a nervous nibble on her bottom lip developing. While everyone sang worship of Batman and his actions, Bella could not bring herself to. Yes, with his arrival brought justice of another kind, but not the way it was intended.
She could not be caught up in her mixed feelings about the masked crusader. Right now, she needed to be focusing on the missing link between Anderson and the crimes she knew he committed and that’s what she intended to do, even if it meant another sleepless night.
