Full Name: Helena Rosa Bertinelli
Alias: Huntress
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Occupation: Gotham County High School English Teacher
Affiliation: Sometimes Batman... Mostly herself.
Personality:
determined; As both Helena and her alias the Huntress, this woman is very motivated. Her determination derives from her loathing of organized crime and anyone who follows it. Whatever the case, Helena is driven to the point of obsession, often stubborn when things do not go her way. No matter what condition she is in, she refuses to give up and promises herself that she will never give up.
guarded; Because of her past, Helena keeps mostly to herself. It’s almost ridiculous how confidential she is. She’s extremely independent and likes to make sure that others know she can take care of herself. When it comes to her past, hardly anyone ever hears about it – unless they’re being hunted for the cause of it.
revengeful; In a word, Helena is motivated by vengeance[/u]. She wants revenge on all those who murdered her family, all those mobs and villains out there who commit the same crimes, and all those who are even remotely evil. They will get their punishment if Helena has anything to say about it.
passionate; Although slightly misguided at times, she is very passionate about her work. She devotes her life to it, everything she does. She sometimes gets a rush, a thrill even when she accomplishes something. Her work is her love, her purpose her obsession. No one could sway her otherwise.
unpredictable; Because of how driven she is, Helena can become a bit too erratic at times. She’s so focused on what she wants that sometimes she doesn’t know when she’s going too far. There’s times when she may become too violent, even merciless to those she is up against. It’s hard to tell how far she is willing to go and when she will stop, if she stops. She is considered dangerous because of this flaw.
Unique Traits/Skills:
To begin, Helena is a trained athlete. She’s in good shape and healthy, which helps when you’re one of the ‘good guys’ trying to kick some ‘bad guy’ ass. She can run for a while without getting too out of breath, and she has enough stamina to last for a while longer than most.
Along with that she is a talented martial artist. She was trained over the years with weapons along with hand-to-hand combat. Not only can she pack a punch, but she can pack one with style. Her determination only made her better, stronger even. She may not be the strongest of them all, but with her training, she knows how to escape when worse comes to worse. Though, she normally is too stubborn to back down.
Helena is also a skilled marksman. The crossbow is her weapon of choice, and she has a pretty kick-butt shot with it. She’s trained with it for awhile longer than anything else and would rather use it then firearms most of the time. If she has to, though, she’ll pick up a pair of guns and use them instead.

Celebrity name: Rachel Weisz
History:
Helena Rosa Bertinelli was born to one of the Mafia families in Gotham City, to parents Franco and Maria Bertinalli. Little did Helena know that Franco was not her biological father. Franco knew, though, and he continued the frequent beatings to his wife, the reason Maria had had the affair in the first place. Unfortunately the affair had been with Santo Cassamento from one of the rival families, which would cause trouble in the future.
During a family dinner one night, when Helena was the tender age of eight, a man barged in to the house. There was confusion at first, but before they could anything to defend themselves, the man shot Helena’s parents and brother. The gunman spared Helena, though it was by accident. He left her there alone to weep over her parents’ dead bodies.
After their tragic deaths, Helena was taken to live with her uncle and cousin. They trained a lot, whether it be hand-to-hand combat or with various weapons. Helena was too haunted by her nightmares of her parent’s deaths to do anything so she just watched. Eventually her cousin told her that the only way to get rid of the nightmares would be to put an end to those who killed her parents. “Blood for blood” right? She started her training here, building her endurance, speed, martial arts, and aim with a crossbow. She was then sent to a boarding school in Switzerland for protection.
Switzerland was where she found out the truth about her family. Corruption, evil, lies. All those years she had been blind to the fact that her family was part of the Mafia, how young and naïve she had been. She cursed herself, though more than that she cursed her family. A new hatred grew, and when she went back to spend Christmas with them, things did not change. In fact they grew worse, she despised being in the same house as them. Though something had changed her that visit to Gotham…
The Batman.
If he could go against the criminals and even her own family, then why couldn’t she? With all of her training, she knew she was capable as well. She went back to her home in Switzerland to continue her schooling. She learned everything she needed to know about the Mafia. Thoughts of the Batman continued to play with her mind as much as the nightmares did. She wanted to go back to Gotham and destroy all of those who had lied to her, taken away her chance at having a normal life. Nothing was holding her back; nothing was standing in her way… And that’s when she decided that she could go back and be just like the one they called the Batman.
Helena worked hard on making a simple costume to wear while she haunted the rooftops at night. She trained some more, practicing with her crossbow as often as she did her martial arts. She took on various other weapons as well so she knew she’d be protected, mostly handguns and the like. And when everything was put into place, she finally returned to Gotham.
Life in Gotham was different now that she was on her own, though also much better. Helena took on the occupation as a Gotham County’s High School English teacher. She had been crazy over the subject when she was in school, and although she enjoyed her pupils, it wasn’t her passion. Her vengeance stirs her passion, and at night when her vigilante self was set free, it is quite obvious she is not fooling around.
Sample Post:
Crouching up along the rooftops, hidden in the shadows, Helena Rosa Bertinelli waited. She was intently watching the door below her, knowing that someone should be walking out of it sometime soon. A meeting had been planned between a few mobsters that night, one of which had been a member of her own family. Unfortunately for the family member, Helena was not expecting to have some friendly reunion.
She absent-mindedly touched the crossbow over her shoulder, a small smile embracing her full lips as she did so. “The Huntress”, they called her, and rightly so. It’s exactly what she did; what she was. Hunted down her prey and took them down without a second thought. She had great patience, stealth as well, and when the time came, she knew exactly when to strike. The name they gave the vigilante suited her well, and she certainly liked it.
Hearing the doorknob turning caused her to jump out of her thoughts momentarily. The anticipation rushed through her veins, already dying to take the poor man by surprise without him ever seeing it coming. Unfortunately when he came into view, it was not the one she had been waiting for. Disappointment washed over her like the waves of an ocean and she frowned, watching the rather plump man take to his car and leave.
Sure, she could have taken him too, but that was not why she was here this night. His time would be soon, but if she took him now and alerted the others, her plan could be ruined. And when her plans got ruined, she was not a happy camper. Not at all.
Her eyes turned towards the sky for a moment, watching the moon. She wondered what time it was, knowing that she’d have to wake early for work the next morning. The students wouldn’t make her fatigue any easier, no matter how many cups of coffee she gulped down. They were always a handful, and yet she still cared for them in a way she cared for no one else.
Again the doorknob attracted her attention. This time she didn’t get her hopes up – but when the person emerged she was not disappointed. She made no noise, though in her mind she laughed as he began walking away. How surprised he was going to be when it was too late. Her eyes smiled along with her as she took aim with her crossbow, saying her last goodbyes before she would pierce his heart. If only he knew what he had coming…
